Welcome and thank you for your interest in our Diploma of Tourism programme of Yangon University of Distance Education. At the end of the 21th century, tourism has become the world’s leading economy. Since tourism industry plays an important role in the Myanmar economy, it is necessary to know about the tourist industry, but a smoke –free industry. Therefore, this program will teach about the nature and sustainability of the tourist industry. We offer the following programme:

Syllabus for Post Graduate Diploma in Geography of Tourism
The long-term sustainability of tourism rests on the ability of community leaders and tourism professionals to maximize its benefits and minimize its costs. This course provides framework for discussions, directions, and development regarding tourism. Formally addressing the impacts of tourism facilitates planning that helps a community create a sustainable tourism industry. This module to achieve both sustainable development, and resource conservation, a clear understanding of the nature of the impacts of recreation on the resource base is required. This knowledge can then be used to develop an effective resource management strategy, given an appropriate institutional framework for integrated resource management.
This course emphasizes the socio-economic development, particularly in less developed countries. The purpose is to provide an introduction to the tourisms development process, focusing on the less developed world and drawing on contemporary case studies. It questions many assumptions about the role of tourism in development and, in particular, highlights the dilemmas faced by destinations seeking to achieve development through tourism.
This course includes Geography and History of Southeast Asia Countries, related tourism industry. Through this study, will be able to understand about ASEAN Countries in detail and apply them to the tourism industry.
This course provides SWOT Analysis, research method and technique, Statistics method. SWOT analysis is a basic, straightforward model that provides direction and serves as a basis for the development of marketing plans. This module provides tourism components and supply and demand analysis. Through this study will be able to obtain some research methods and conduct research on the tourism industry as well as analyze the future of the tourism industry.

- Exam ကို YUDE Exam Centre တွင်သာလာရောက်ဖြေဆိုရမည်။
- YUDE Home page တွင် ခရီးသွားပညာ လေ့လာသင်ကြားခြင်းဆိုင်ရာ ကြေငြာချက်များကို အချိန်နှင့်တပြေးညီ ဖော်ပြထားသဖြင့် အမြဲဖတ်ရှုသိရှိရန် တာဝန်ယူရမည်။

How about the PGDGT Program?
PGDGT Program provides total 8 modules within one year. It includes 4 modules for first semester and another 4 modules for second semester. After completion of the second semester examination, students will submit the case study based project paper.
How much does it cost to join the program and what do we get by taking part?
- Registration fee is Kyats 10,000 and fee for first semester is Kyats 200,000.
- Fee for second semester is kyats 200,000 and examination fee is Kyats 24,000.
- Following registration, participants receive Student ID and Password.
